Qurban Street is a vibrant street close to the Prophet's Mosque. It encompasses a variety of shops and restaurant complexes. This makes it a perfect destination of restaurant goers, particularly popular food fans. The Chefs Market, which contains numerous restaurants that serve a variety of international dishes, is a prominent landmark of this street.
Reportedly, Qurban was a man who had a well with a garden around it. His name prevailed in the area until the entire region was named after him. So, the street bears his name as well.
Qurban Street is located to the south of the Prophet's Mosque and intersects with King Faisal Road.
A majestic spot that witnessed the most intense moments in the life of the Messenger of Allah and his honorable companions. The sincerity of the faith of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and the betrayal of the hypocrites and Jews surfaced here, in great events immortalized by the Qur’an and ended with the victory of the Prophet and his companions.
The prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, chose this place to be a graveyard for his companions. Around 10,000 of the honorable companions were buried there. Because of the large number of righteous people who were buried in this cemetery, it is called Al-Baqi' Garden.
