It is the first mosque in Islam. The Prophet (ﷺ) with his own blessed hands, laid the foundation stone of the mosque, which was built by the emigrants and the helpers (ansar). Allah extolled this mosque and mentioned its virtues in the everlasting Qur'an, "A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in." (9:108) more

It is an antique mosque built in the place where the Prophet (ﷺ) camped and inspected his army on the way to the Battle of Uhud, and chose those who would be fit to fight among his companions. He performed Asr, Maghreb, and Isha prayers in this place and stayed there over the night. more
