Baqi' Al-Gharqad

The prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, chose this place to be a graveyard for his companions. Around 10,000 of the honorable companions were buried there. Because of the large number of righteous people who were buried in this cemetery, it is called Al-Baqi' Garden.

Quba Mosque

It is the first mosque in Islam. The Prophet (ﷺ) with his own blessed hands, laid the foundation stone of the mosque, which was built by the emigrants and the helpers (ansar). Allah extolled this mosque and mentioned its virtues in the everlasting Qur'an, "A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in." (9:108)

Athq Well

When he emigrated from Makkah to Madinah, the Prophet (ﷺ) stopped at this well and built near it the first mosque in Islam, Quba Mosque.

The Well of the Ring

The Prophet (ﷺ) sat at it and gave the glad tidings of Paradise to Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. It embraced the ring of the Prophet (ﷺ).

Pottery Making

Pottery is one of the oldest crafts in human history. In Madinah, it became popular due to the availability of raw materials - water and soft soil - in the surrounding valleys.

Sheraik Bread

Ramadan iftar bread. Known for its amazing taste, sheriak comes in round loafs of bread coated in sesame, that are brittle from the outside and soft from the inside. It makes a part of the table of the people of Madinah, especially at the iftar table.

Manto is a popular dish in Madinah and the western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The word is borrowed from the Persian word 'manto' which means wrapped filling.

The Turkish salep word is believed to be derived from an Arabic word, tha'lab, which is the name of the plant in Arabic.
