The place where the Ansar gathered on 12 Rabi Al-Awwal 11 AH, after the death of the Prophet ﷺ, to consult on who would be Caliph of the Muslims. It ended with the pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).
In the heart of Al-Awali, where land and sky meet in solemn silence, Al-Ihn Well whispers the stories of time. Once known as Al-Asirah (“the difficult”), it was renamed Al-Yasirah (“the easy”) by the Prophet ﷺ as a good omen, and later became known as Al-Ihn, after the orchard around it. Between its two stone horns the noble Companion Abu Salamah ibn Abd Al-Asad was washed with its pure water, and it stood witness to the farewell of the first Muhajirun. Carved into the rock, plentiful and sweet, it waters the land with its ancient secret.
