storical overview: In his youth, Salmān Al Fārisī t left Persia in search of the true religion. He met Christian scholars who foretold the Prophet ﷺ’s coming and described his signs. While traveling, he was enslaved and sold to a man from Banī Qurayd͟hah in Madīnah. When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madīnah, Salmān confirmed the signs, embraced Islām, and became “Salmān, son of Islām.” The Prophet ﷺ advised him to seek a manumission contract with his master, who demanded 40 ūqiyyahs of gold and the planting of 300 date-palms in Al Fuqayr, stipulating they bear fruit within a year. The companions donated the saplings, Salman dug the pits, and the Prophet ﷺ personally planted them. All bore fruit that year. The Prophet ﷺ then gifted Salmān a piece of gold weighing exactly 40 ūqiyyahs, securing his freedom. Al Fuqayr Well remains a witness to this story of faith, unity, and perseverance
